1. Malta Book Festival 2026 – A World of Stories Awaits

Dates: Until Sunday 8 November
Location: Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre (MFCC), Ta’ Qali
Saturday: 9am–9pm
Sunday: 9am–8pm

One of the most wonderful events for families this weekend is the Malta Book Festival, organised by the National Book Council.

With more than 40 exhibitors, the festival brings together publishers, booksellers, writers, illustrators and organisations celebrating reading and storytelling.

Children can discover new books, meet familiar characters, participate in workshops and experience stories beyond the pages.

Saturday highlights include:

  • Meet Peppa Pig, 10am–12:30pm.
  • A Maltese Christmas picture-book launch and reading, 3pm–4pm.
  • Adventure Writing Workshop for ages 12–16, from 4pm.
  • ELLA, a Maltese-language theatre performance for ages 12–16, at 6pm, exploring sensitive family themes.
  • Ian Rankin in conversation, followed by a book signing, at 7pm.

As a teacher and a mother, I believe that introducing children to books and storytelling is one of the most meaningful gifts we can give them. Events like this allow children to discover that reading can be an adventure rather than simply another school activity.

We’ve already prepared a detailed guide covering the festival, its children’s programme, workshops and booking information.

Making the Most of Family Life in Malta

Sometimes we become so busy with work, school, responsibilities and everyday routines that we forget just how much is happening around us.

Yet Malta offers so many opportunities for families to learn, explore, stay active and connect with others.

From traditional village fairs and local sports clubs to theatre, science, nature and creative workshops, there is something to discover for almost every age and interest.

For children, these experiences are more than simply entertainment.

They are opportunities to develop curiosity, build confidence, discover talents, experience different cultures and create memories together.

And sometimes the simplest outing a village fair, a walk by the sea or an afternoon watching young athletes becomes the one they remember most.

At Kids In Malta®, our goal is simple: to help families discover opportunities and bring useful information together in one place.

We believe that sharing information helps create a stronger, more connected community, whether you have lived in Malta your entire life or arrived only recently.
